Great Saturday of football. Bama crashed back onto the scene, and the Gators have as well (for now). Both strong and completely dominating wins. From day 1 I have believed Alabama to be one of the two best teams in the land. But it's looking to be a topsy turvy season so anything can happen.

Some more teams see their CFP dreams go down the drain. Notre Dame, probably UCLA, UGA, Ole Miss. Michigan (and Nothwestern!) looking strong. Huge game in AA this coming Saturday. Sparty escapes with a 3 point victory over Purdue. Purdue! Were Gene Keady and Judd Heathcoat calling the plays? I am more worried about TTUN than MSU.

I'm glad to not be a Vols fan, but I think it would be worse to be a UGA fan. SEC/national title aspirations again dashed in a crushing "we are not worthy" defeat.

I'm old enough to remember when every Texas vs TCU game ended 50-7 or even worse, but it was Texas with 50. I bet my UT could beat either of those other UTs.

Speaking again of the other UT, Vols fans should adopt Houston as their substitute favorite team this season. A guy named Tom Herman is the coach. 4-0. Scored on their first possession of the game in each of their first 4 games. He should be available in a couple years when Lyle's buy out is more palatable to the administration. I know the other best team in the land misses Tom a lot.

Speaking of which, Cardale was awful. Urban seemed more concerned about the penalties and turnovers, which are killing OSU, and he should but did you see Cardale? Did I say he was awful? I'm convinced Urban is the best coach in college football, but wonder if he has outsmarted himself this time? This Cardale/incorporate pro style onto the read option experiment isn't working. It's time to play the guy Urban recruited to run Urban's offense.

My daughter agrees. We had her over for a little cook out and she was all about the Gators. :P

This is just a question --not an attack.

All fan bases have their obnoxious ones who remind us all that "fan" is derived from "fanatic."

Eleven Warriors ran a piece the other day with twitter tweets from the past few years of the Meyer reign. Tweets from this time last year calling for Fickel to be fired, Ash to be fired. Calls after Va Tech for Herman's head. Calls over the past 4 years for Meyer to be fired.

Your post did make me think and helped me walk back from the ledge. The D is solid. Zeke is tearing it up. The O is averaging the exact same number of yards per play this year as it did last year. The turnovers and penalties are the killer and must and will be corrected. The red zone inefficiency is what has me worried, and the turnovers and red zone problems have afflicted OSU since the Sugar Bowl win under Cardale. Urban admitted yesterday at his presser that the coaches have considered going to JT Barrett in the red zone. I doubt that will happen.
