I have a newly discovered mullberry tree in my yard, and its loaded with berries. Will deer eat mullberries or not. I know the squirrels are makin hash out of them.
Yes deer will eat them. Not only the berries, but the leaves as well. My uncle in Wisconsin always tells me about a monster ten that would eat them in his yard.
Deer love them but Ive noticed its hard for deer to get many of them though on my place... coons, possums, bears, etc etc will raid them while still hanging in the tree.
Mulberries are a favorite for many backyard animals: deer, squirrels, birds and coons love them, but not near as much as me! Every year I can about 12 jars of mulberry jamtalk about some good stuff!!
