UPDATE:: I finally got the chance to shoot this gun with different chokes and shells. I was shooting at a turkey head and neck silhouette taped to a fiberglass hood, (It was junk), and i was shooting at 40 yards. First I used the turkey choke that came with the gun, using hevishot mag blend 3.5. Next was 3.5 #5 Winchester long beards and then 3.5 #6 Winchester long beards. Fist I would like to say everyone should stick to some type of hevi shot. At 40 yards the 3.5 #5 and #6 could not penetrate the fiber glass hood. All the shot was stuck in the hood. I too was shocked. The hevi shot DID pass through. The patterns however were not great in any of the shells. I then used a pattern master code black choke and the pattern was much better. I was however not as good as my remington 870 with a jelly head (older version).
Pros: The gun is lighter than most other brands. The pistol grip buttstock is nice. It does not adjust so you dont have to worry about it folding down and causing injury. However if you have short arms that is also a con, because the length is out there. The fiber optic sights are bright and really tiny, so having a small aim point is nice.
Cons: The assisted mechanism that helps with reloading is something to worry with if you are not used to it prior to shooting the big loads. The gun almost reloads itself. However my remington will do the same when shooting 3.5 turkey loads. It also has one heck of a kick with the 3.5, right there with the older mossbergs.
