With the weaknesses of the lines, and other positions, they have actually been serviceable and have improved.

I think JG has actually regressed. In the BYU game where we got the deflection TD, he was throwing right at me as I was in the stands in that end zone. He threw it between two guys that had to be 15 yards apart, and just got lucky that a BYU guy tipped it right to Jennings or whoever it was.

Then yesterday, throwing the 200 mph fastball to Jennings for an easy score (yes JJ should have caught it, but JG does not throw a catchable ball).

Then his being UNABLE to throw to a back out of the backfield.

But, this is just unacceptable, and JG should never start again.

Battered vol syndrome or not this is what a lot of people outside the orange glass wearing public have been saying for years . Towing the line that vols have the history , the money and the facilities are just not going to cut it . It has not for a long time .

Nothing is going to change till there is a realization in the upper office that changes need to be made there . Bringing in a smooth talking snake oil salesman for a quick fix is not the answer and neither is hiring a non established coach .

vols need a house cleaning top to bottom .

Saw a guy somewhere yesterday that said he was gonna commit suicide.
He was going to jump from the top of pruitts ego and jump all the way down to his iq LOL

Both the Vols Dline & Oline are pretty sad for an SEC team.

QB play is below average.

HBs are decent. WRs are good just dont get many chances.

The best LB has been a true freshman, and the DBs are ok considering they get 0 help from any kind of pass rush.

The Georgia st game was the worst UT game I've ever watched I do believe.

I didnt watch the BYU game went to a braves game, and I didnt bother rewatching after learning the out come.

Cool beat Chattanooga who cares.

And I think they really out played UF for a single quarter. That's it. UF had really been outplayed 5 stright quarters at that point.

In the first quarter vols really forced back to back turnovers on the same drive. A sack, a 4th down stop, and hit Jennings in the hands with a game tieing TD pass. Then after that Ufs pure talent, experienced coach, and players took over, and gave them a butt kicking. Tennessee was gonna have to play a perfect game to stay close with them. Dropping Td passes and over throwing wide opening guys while getting a couple personal foul calls TN had no chance.

Again, that's not my point. Yes, we have glaring, GLARING weaknesses. But as many mistakes as were made, with just a couple of throws hitting guys on time, we beat both Ga St and BYU.

With the two easy TDs that weren't last Saturday, it's a whole different game. Did FL impress you? They're knowledgeable fan base can see the product and they aren't too confident.

Did you see the lineman throw his hands down in disgust when JG missed the guy running wide open down the field in my link above. That stuff has to demoralize those guys, especially with the verbal beatings they have been taking from the fanbase the past couple of years. Why should I put forth the effort when our QB can't make a middle school throw?

Pruitt is in a dilemma. I think he will have Mauer ready to start against UGA, but I might let JG start the next three games and let JG take the punishment, with Mauer come in after they are out of hand to get some reps and roll him out and start the S. Car. game going forward.

UF had two turnovers that lead to TN having those two chances to score. So IF UF had not made those mistakes then TN wouldn't even been close to scoring those two easy tds. But guess what? It is what it is...

Considering the Gators did not have Feleipe Franks all game and had to depend on Trask who had not taken a snap since his Freshman year I think they did just ok. Hard to bring a team up to tempo in a week when you go from the likes of a Franks to a Trask. It takes awhile for a line to gel. Trask did a admirable job all things considered.

Pruitt needs to realize the best he has to hope for is two more wins this season. UAB and Vandy. He should be thinking about next season now and start condition MAuer to play. Put good money into good instead of good money into bad.

^^^^^^^^^^^ yep... Not bad for a backup that wasn't even a starter in HS. Line protected well in pass blacking, gotta improve the run blocking. BUT Perine isn't running as hard this year as he did last year. Think his head is already set for the draft. Trask will only get better each game. TN is lucky we didn't beat them by 50.

The Auburn game will tell how good UF is. Auburn has a stout dline. Offense isn't that great. Pitts (the one that killed Thompson on that "get off me" play) is coming on. He is a nightmare mismatch.

Trask is better than Franks.

Agree... not strong of a arm but smarter.l through reads.

I honestly think if Franks hadn't played until Mullen got there, he would be much much better. He learned bad habits and shouldn't have played his freshman year AT ALL.

University of Memphis should replace the Vols in the SEC. The Vols screwed them out of the conference bid and now Memphis is a far superior team.
