I'm looking at local WMA's to turkey hunt. Not looking for someone to locate birds for me just to confirm that they are there. I am looking at Gallatin Steam Plant, Cedar Hill Swamp, Old Hickory, and Cheatham. I am really interested in the smaller WMA's as it is my opinion that those places get passed over. Any one have experience with them?
 
Gallatin Steam plant is archery only. It does have some birds but it can get crowded. Old Hickory you best bet is with a boat. Quite a few birds, very little access without a boat. I have turkey hunted Cheatham 4 times. Never killed a bird there. Have had some awesome chases. That's all I can tell you about, I hope it helps.
 
not worried about archery only, I'm ok with that. I am able to do mid week hunts so am not concerned with the crowding.
