...gobblers huddle together so close while their strutting? I've had to pass on several good gobblers in the past because of subordinate birds having to keep shoulder to shoulder with them while they spun around in circles strutting in.
 
Start paying attention to the coloration of their heads while they are doing this, you'll likely pick up on some common characteristics.
White heads, red heads and red/white/blue heads. Those white headed birds seem to be the dominant ones, at least I think...

I have noticed this as well, at least sometimes, the boss has a white neck and will turn red if you throw up a tail fan at him :D
