I posted earlier about dirt rolling a good bird this morning and him shakin it off and runnin away. Well this afternoons bird wasnt so lucky! My cousin and I found a solo tom about 350yds out in the middle of a river bottom field. We snuck to the edge and started I started callin at him. He slowly worked to about 200 yds and sorda hung up. My cousin snuck a hen decoy out of his pack and put it up right in front of him. He sorda hid behind the decoy. I changed over from a mouth call to a box call and that seemed to do the trick! He came in on a string. He let him have it at about the 40 yd mark! My turn to be the shooter again in the morning! I cant wait!
