Woods or field?

Both possibly, depends where they happen to be roosting and where they go after fly down, hoping to set up on at least one gobbler before dawn. Going scouting in the am to get a better idea of where I will set up on saturday.

how about ammending this to add "why"

Last year all my kills came in a field. The primo farm we landed was just treelines and fields. Loads of turkeys but they pitched into the fields every morning so that is where we hunted them.

Public land, I'm in the woods. Because that is the majority of the property and the birds like to focus on certain ridges.

Agree with some of the other guys,it depends. I prefer to hunt the fields, but if their not roosting close,I hit the wood's more often than not. Either way,if their gobblin',i'm a happy man!

I'll be on the edge of a pipeline at daylight so I guess you'd call it field. It goes through the property and is about 50 yards across at it's widest point. They roost on the edge of it and pitch down into it most of the time. I passed by this morning and saw 3 hens and 1 strutter. Just hope I set up in the correct spot as it's a chess match on which way they go when they do fly down. Later in the morning I usually end up in the woods.

Exactly! Ill chase one from daylight till dark if hell just keep gobbling.

starting in the field for fly down then chase them where ever they want to go and head them off thats the plan any way
