Probably covered over 25 miles of public land this week. Mostly public wma's. Heard one bird gobble on opening youth day with my daughter. Haven't heard another gobble since. Any advice would be helpful. With the current pandemic and kids not in school, I have the opportunity to hunt most mornings and take my kids along. Have hunted chickamauga rogers creek, candies creek, Charlotte Finnell, and south Cherokee NF. Seen plenty of signs once we walk and cover ground. Henned up? Not getting out early enough. Birds been called to to much? Been out early every day. Hunted to top ridge of Oswald Road and covered about 5 miles on the east side. Any suggestions on public land in this area? Don't mind covering a lot of ground. Best to just get in an area where there are signs and sit and call occasionally instead of covering ground? Never gone this many days without hearing a bird.

How early? Ground gobbling is hard to come by for me right now too. Need to be there while it's still good and dark or sit on those areas with fresh sign and lightly call, hoping the turkeys that made it are still around.

Juvenile weekend we heard one gobble a few time on the tree (WMA). Nothing the rest of the weekend. Then opening weekend we heard them on the roost and caught one gobbling at 9:00 and got him. Then Sunday heard them on the roost only. Today back at the WMA we heard nothing on the roost. One gobbled twice when entering a field. Nothin the rest of the day. We covered several miles as well. Just do not seem to be gobbling a lot right now.
