Nothing going right this Spring season.
Being out of town for 2 weeks at the beginning, and being gone this coming week just adds to it. I'll just have next weekend to make it happen.

Situation:
This year all the birds on the farm have moved to neighbors property. Three flocks roost on the property line, on my land, but then fly down to theirs. Jakes and hens will travel back towards me, but toms are staying a long distance off.
Example, yesterday 2 toms and a jake gobbled from 0545 to 1000, then went farther away.
I have really limited my calling, hoping they would remember I was there until after the hens went their separate ways later in the morning. Not working. They are more interested in eating at that point. I see the same 2 jakes almost every day.
Hunting 2 or 3 days a week have shown me some beautiful sunrises and tons of deer, just no toms. I have not hunted in the afternoons (has never been productive for me in the past), but am open to the idea.

So, any last minute advice appreciated.

Yep this late in the season nothing wrong with a jake. I would have shot one at the first of season if i had a chance LOL been ruff around here to.

If you getting desperate (no shame it that at all, especially if time and circumstances have limited your hunting), and you know where they roost on your property, set up near the roost in the afternoon, call very sparingly, if at all, and smack one on his way to roost.

I had the exact same problem this year no morning birds and property line/ terrain on 2 properties ,killed 2 birds in afternoon 1 on each place good luck !!

I've killed two this year. One was at 6:13 in the morning and the other 1:20 in the afternoon. Had one at about 40 yards yesterday at 12:45 but hoping he would come to 30 or closer for my son to shoot but he didn't. I let him walk off and could have killed him ten times. If there's daylight and you can go then do it no matter what time of day.

I'll hit it again tomorrow morning before my trip, and then I still have next weekend.

At least my wife will be happy to see all the camo off the stairs, out of the garage, the couch, etc.
