Would a 85gr broadhead be to light?

I don think it would be too light. Alot more choices though in 100 grn. I am shooting 75 this year.My 20 to 30 yard is 3 in difference with 100 grain and on with 75 grain heads. Just making up the difference.

You're just about to the limit in spine with 400's and a 72#/29" draw length. If you want to go 100gr you'd need a stiffer spine, say a 340 at that DL. I was shooting a 64#/31" DL with 29.5" arrows and with 400's the 85gr shot well but the 100 was too heavy unless I wanted to move up in spine, which I didn't because of all the money I had invested in 400's. I've have your Pro Shop double check your spine for the #'s your shooting and your DL.

IMO yes. Speed is not an issue in the deer woods, but penatration and arrow flight are issues. I say as long as your arrows are not underspined go with 100grn at least. Not to mention more weight up front directly affects the arrow's "front of center" balance. The more the merrier.

Personally i dont like anything less than 100 grain.....but if you follow the advice of the above you will be fine.

I would suggest nothing heavier than 85 gr., i shoot 75 gr., and have never had a problem with complete pass thru out to 40 yds, your arrows are very heavy too, I now use 300's at 8 gr/inch up from 200's at 7.3 gr/inch and I pull 72 lbs of draw, I like my bows fast and flat shooting vs slow, heavy and trying to worry about yardage, I am a speed freak as they say and because of this I never worry about yardage....just point and shoot....one pin and no guess work, do what feels comfortable to you but take it from me, proof is in the puddin
