My dad tried the long beards in his new 835.He had a gobbler come out at what he thought was 40 yards.He shot and the bird went down.My dad ranged it and it was 68 yards.That is crazy for 3" 6 shot.And no I'm not saying to shot that far or whatever .

Lucky pellet. Those shells pattern well, but that range with lead 6s is luck. Glad he didn't lose him.

Congrats to your dad but that is NOT an effective range for any 3" load. It sounds like he may need a rangefinder for his next birthday or Christmas? Lol
