i'm not sure if it's the one i missed or not. we had several birds gobbling but this one can in silent.we spooked 2 off the roost going in and they flew across the highway. we thought we were screwed for the day. they would answer every time i called but i knew it was unlikely they would come back across the road. we were discussing what to do next when a hen yelped just out of sight. we scrambled and got back in position just as she comes into view. she passed at 6 yds and as i watch her pass me and go in front of the boy, i heard him say "bird". i thought "yeah, i saw her.". i turned slightly to watch her walk off and all i saw was a tail fan about the time he pulled the trigger.

Yes that is beard rot !! I have killed a few with it, make's you second guess them unless they come in strutting and you see a full fan !! Congrats
