I'm ready. Very excited for the juvy hunt after my Saturday scouting trip.

I really do enjoy watching amateur YouTube turkey hunts. They are more "real". However, I have noticed on a lot of them just how unimportant it is at being a good caller. Some of those guys are pretty bad and call way too much (to my ears), but the proof is in the pudding with a kill shot.

Yea some people call way too much, but there are still birds that are too hyped up to even care and they come in on a string

I agree Catman. I have 12 hrs a night to sit and watch them. (cushe job) I have noticed a lot of hunters tend to get a fired up gobbler and keep pouring it on when they should shut up. You can tell when they eventually hang up at 40 yards when if you would have shut up, the bird would have been at 20. I have also noticed a lot of guys taking either way too long of shots, or flat out missing when taking a bad shot. Catman I think we discussed a video where they were using LB shells and took the shot that I would have been scared to take with my rifle. There is a good one of a couple guys from MS public land hunting where they wont shut up. They eventually kill a bird, but the birds hang up around 40 yards due to him cutting like crazy every time he gobbled. I guess some guys think a turkey must gobble into the gun. Don't get me wrong, I love one to gobble to the gun, but I also love one of those long spurred birds to come in silent...
