Rain a day or so before opening day and then sun on opening morning. That way the woods would be real quiet to walk through (no crunching on dry leaves) yet the weather would be nice. One can wish.... soon as we are 10 days out I will be checking the weather.com forecast almost every day to see what they are calling for. If they are calling for thunderstorms, I definitely won't be getting up at 3.30 to get soaked. Did that once in deer season, was my first time deer hunting, and the rain was completely miserable.

Let's hope (and pray) for some good weather on the 2nd. What are y'alls favorite type of weather for turkeys?

I like a drizzly day. Lot of birds hit the fields on days like that.

I noticed that, sometimes I see a lot on drizzly days, sometimes not so much, but in general they seem to like fields on those kinds of days.

Idc what the weather is opening I'll be out there. Rain I'll be in the blind if no rain I'll be gunning for one! Can't miss opening day

Ditto that, 45 would make me feel like deer season or early shed season or something, 60s is good and warming up to 70s, just naturally most comfortable for me.

It has POURED rain the last three opening days. And right when the rain stopped within 30 minutes we had a gobbler on the ground. I LOVE when it rains a little and then the sun comes out. Then its on.

i like the woods to be dry so you can hear that turkey coming.they don't seem to mind hearing you move. They think its another turkey that was calling to them.

I love to be in the woods any day, but I agree its hard to beat a morning after a day or two of rainy weather. When the woods wake up and the sun starts to peak over the horizon, its on! The birds are usually screaming and ready to go :)

well it has rained in middle TN the past 4 opening days so hopeing that trend brakes this year. I can do rain, wind is what i really cant stand.

Agree.
Its really frustrating when the wind is blowing so hard you cant even hear a bird gobble even if he was right on top of you.

LOL the wind and rain was so rough last year on opening day I had a gobbler fire off at my mouth call from 100 yards away.
He was facing 90 degrees to my left and I could see his neck stretch out but I couldn't hear him.
Not until he turned directly towards me could I hear him at all and that was at 75 yards. :)

I am kinda strange I guess, no matter the weather, I will be out there.

Won't be the first time I have gone back to the truck and changed clothes and went after them again. :D
