This is my cousin in Mo son. He was 15 and they had a lot of pictures of this buck. His Dad came to help him track the deer after the shot and asked him if he heard him go down. The son said it was more of a loud thud than a crash like he ran into a tree. He thought about it for a second then asked his Dad if it was possible that he ran into a tree and broke the antlers off. When his Dad said yes, there was a nervous look on the sons face. They found the buck and he did run into a tree but the antlers were fine. I told him to just quit hunting now. He may go the rest of his life without ever killing another one this nice. I found this picture going through my phone and thought I would share.
