I have been reading in the forum for years and after a very sucsessful youth hunt Saterday, I decided to join this week, to share my youth hunt story.
Me and a buddy took my stepson and his son on the youth hunt in Giles county Tennessee Saturday morning, and I could not have been better. The hunt was great from the time we arrived until we left. Had turkey around Gobbling all morning long. Top picture is Jake my stepson (14 years old). This is his second turkey and it was a good bird 9 1/2" beard and 1 1/8" spurs. This turkey came in with another gobbler early (6:45), they were in full strut for about the last 75 yards, before they got into range. I could not be more proud, he made a great shot. After he got this turkey we stayed put so Will would have his chance. Even with no more calling we had other Gobblers come into range while we waited on Will to finish his hunt. After spooking different gobblers 2 twice throughout the morning Will got his turkey (picture below) at 12:30 pm I got to give him credit for hanging in there (for a 9 year old). Anyway his bird had 1" spurs and a 9 1/2" beard. Was a great morning, I am still excited.
I included a picture of Jake when we got home, because the picture I took with my phone (top) was blurry, I guess I was to excited.
