For sure. fairchaser is hunting at/near ground zero for CWD. It definitely adds up. If he so chose, he could drive one hour in any direction in TN, hunt, kill a deer, and significantly reduce the likelihood of a future positive.

Yes in the last 4 years. Every buck for sure is positive and most does.

No, going back a few years. But, this years buck and last years buck plus a couple does were positive.

I've only killed one buck this year but technically I have four buck tags this year. A carryover from last year, plus two regular tags plus another for this years positive buck. It's insane.

Yep, for a positive buck you get an extra tag which can be used the next season.

Yes, it's either move on or change your mindset about why you hunt. Sadly, I'm a horn hunter now and see killing these bucks as an extermination service. Also, I'm saving them from a slow painful death.

When I hunt Grand Junction (which is 2-3 times a year) I will only kill a deer that I plan on mounting. We don't kill many there, 3 in the last 5 years, all looked healthy, but came back positive. Youngest was 3.5.

Odds are 80% of bucks 3.5 or older are positive. For me it's been 100%.

Like he said " that's insane " . Shoot the two buck limit in the foot and what it has accomplished then .
