Yes that was a really bad strike out.
On the batters part. Yea. The catcher did good framing the pitch up and umpire thought it was close enough to be a strike or was a strike. The batter bailing out was just to try and make it look like it was more inside. Remember. It's where the ball crosses the plate and not where the ball is caught. Even tho we teach the catchers to frame anything close. Sometimes you can catch a ump sleeping.
The batter was just looking for a walk. Plain and simple.

Awesome. I hope you a fun safe trip but leave disappointed.
Tennessee has a great team. Alabama seems to be better this year but this weekend we'll see how much better. I was hoping to go Saturday but I'm going to see my daughter at college this weekend.

Alabama got lucky that inning with Tennessee making some mistakes.

Vols cut the lead to 1 down 6-5 bottom of the 7th. They were down 3 when i saw it on tv. Hopefully they get it done. Saw a replay of the bama right fielder taking a home run away.

Tn needs a stop in the 8th
1 out top of the 9th with a runner on first and Ensley at the plate, why do you try to steal? That was stupid! Then Ensley flies out to end the game. Bama takes game 1 6-5.

Great game. Alabama held on to win game 1. Getting that out at second was huge. It's great to get game one but still got 2 more games. RTR!

I agree. You go from having a base runner with one out to being on your last strike.
Commentators did say that was first time he's been thrown out.

Dumb move to try to steal and dumb unawareness that got them doubled up from LeBron (SS) and throwing back to first. Bama right fielder stealing that home run was clutch. There definitely were some good defensive plays on both sides tonight.

Vols had the runners on to take the win even with the good defensive plays by bama. Hopefully Vols take the next 2.
Great outcome for you, but definitely not a great game. Errors, kicked balls, walking in runs, hit batsmen, etc. It was an ugly game for both sides. Tennessee was just a whole lot uglier.

I guess I should have said fun game. Both teams made a lot of mistakes. I thought the mistakes was going to hurt Bama when Tennessee went up 3-0 but then Tennessee started making mistakes and helped Bama put up a big inning.
