Man I had ole String Music turn me a purple slate over walnut double sider after learning he was a call maker. Man o man I'm glad I spent the money. This call is not only beautiful and well crafted, but it plays exceptionally! If your in the market for a nice custom call don't hesitate with one of TnDeers own!

Mark turns a fine pot call! I like them awfully well...

The slate in a walnut pot is the one of his that I really liked. He sent me a video of himself running it and it was definitely the sound I wanted. I think it all depends on what sound you are looking for as the different surfaces and wood combos give a different pitch. Sending you a PM

The
How do you get in touch with him and is there a must have call of his?
the walnut/purple slate combo I have is very very good! The range that SM has built into this call is amazing, especially given that it's a slate call. It plays soft and subtle calls very well, as most slates do, but to me the magic with this call is its ability to get loud and raspy as well. I love carrying a call to the woods that is versatile above all else. Having the double side to work off of just increases my ability to throw different tones at an Ole wary Tom.

Thanks for the kind review but you need to cut your nails! 😀

Just got this double sided Walnut and stoned aluminum/slate from string music yesterday. It is a great call, the stoned aluminum can get super loud and has good rasp to it, the aluminum that he is using in these calls has great grip to it. Right out of the box without roughing up my striker it played perfect with no slipping. The slate sound is good for your softer calls when they are in close and your tree yelps. I also have a purple slate from him which sounds awesome also. I would recommend him for any call type but I would try to get.one of these aluminums before he runs out.
