You catch and cook bream.
Fresh bream is still my favorite.
I have never "double" coated them before and did it this time.
Definitely different but I honestly think I prefer the single dipped myself.
The double seemed to overpower the taste of the fish a bit.
Wouldn't turn it down though. :D

geez, i hope your not dipping perfectly good brims in ketchup.
I disagree. Fried fish, fried potatoes require ketchup. No one has ever fried fish for me that I did not want ketchup. I would bet you would not use ketchup with the fish I fry, but I do. I almost will not eat fried fish unless the batter use has some "kick" in it. But I am for sure having ketchup with my fried fish.

If you want a little extra crunch without the full double breading, dust in seasoned flour, then egg wash, then your preferred breading. No egg dredge on the first go.
My wife and best friend both said they liked the double dipped better than the single.
They both said it made it more crunchy.
For me, I felt the batter, Andy's, that I love, with the double dip it kinda overpowered the taste of the fish a bit more than I like.
Guess I will have to do it both ways all the time now. LOL
