Numerous reports of poults in my area of North MS near the TN line. I suspected we'd have early ones as green up was ~7-10 days ahead and we didn't have near the low temps this spring as we normally do.

I was thinking the same. See Tom's strutting with hens into June here. Always wonder if they breed that late will the poults make it. Hopefully so, because odds are high some nests got washed out.

Saw some today big enough to fly to a limb.

Actually saw two diff bunches. However one was 3 poults & the other 4... Gobbler tracks still everywhere on roads.

found a nest on my place in giles while planting trees saturday. 8 eggs. hen just eased off into the timber, didn't seem spooked. hopefully they will hatch soon. been a coyote around and I haven't been able to catch it yet.going to try my foxpro saturday to see if I can kill it

I saw a hen today while driving down the road and glanced over in time to see a poult. Not sure how many there were though.
