The most exciting thing... we are FINALLY down to less than 10% of males killed being jakes
Unfortunately, that is also likely a function of recruitment being down 25% in 2023 compared to 2021 and 2022.

I guess the closest comparison would be spring 2021, the year following the worst hatch on record. Had 3200 or so jakes killed then, a little more than 10%

Well doesn't look like people being tagged out contributed to the slow down in the kill after a couple weeks of the season. Only 24 percent of hunters that harvested a turkey killed two. My guess is it was the hot weather that occurred in May
