I shot it knowing it was a male bird with a 99.9% chance of having a beard. Knew it was a risk of being a Jake not seeing the beard but also was pretty convinced it was a tom by the sound of his gobble and size of his head.

and what percent of male turkeys in the spring have no beard? I'll take my chances... if I do somehow manage to kill a non bearded gobbler, I will call TWRA. It is my call to make.

There was a Primos video where I think it was Brad that shot a strutter that didn't have a beard at all. Lots of drama over that
 
Not a week into turkey season and the same old people hating on catman as last year. Catman, you are one heck of a turkey hunter. Make some of your own calls and video yourself doing it. Camp out from the boat and go hunt. Honestly, the ones that give you the hardest time are flat out jealous. Also, way too many internet police. Congratulations on an already great season. Please dont stop posting because of some of the negative comments on occasion. Some of us old guys enjoy how you hunt.I promise you, youre not the only one who has shot a gobbling bird without seeing the beard first. People who ask that have never had a bird gobbling in their face. Congrats.

Catman had a heck of TN opening weekend. The covid has put a damper on my plans, so I've enjoyed watching him and whatever else I can find on YouTube.
