That grunt noise is actually a crane (or some kind of water bird) who got scared at the shot.

Thanks. Definitely not my biggest buck, but I worked about as hard to get him. I lost my big lease i had cultivated for years, so I've been acclimating to Public land. Been busy with work, building house, and my business so, I've not had near the time to scout. I hope to make time between now and next year. I hope. But, I was glad to take this guy, especially the circumstances and drama that played out in the woods with him and the other deer. Thanks for your nice comment.
