Before I start this I make no contention that I am a Bushnell fan to begin with but have always tried to rule them justly in the past. I own 6 of them (3-09/3-11)(had one more that was stolen recently)so you can take my opinion for what it is worth based on my past posts.
I keep my cams placed under heavy canopy and little light gets through but will on ocassion. Initial impression is this camera is excellent concerning sensing and trigger interval which seem to be 3 shot burst performed in under 2 seconds and the ability to do it again after only 7 seconds consistently in my testing on trails.
Night time illumination and pictures are actually superior in my opinion that traditional IR in most cases such as I use them. The Black LED really lights up the night well and constistantly. One camera had taken almost 1300 pictures and using my Tenergy LSD rechargeables I still had all my bars. You actually seem to get more blur in daytime pictures with moving objects than you do nighttime. I also think the transition is on a timer of some kind that automatically starts a switch at around 7:20 pm until 8:00 pm before going completely into "NO GLOW" mode as far as picture quality goes.
I noticed an interesting phenomena when viewing close to 3,000 total pictures that I found to be interesting. Many of the deer who normally frequented my minerals licks came into them almost "looking" for a flash of some kind when coming in at night. I say this because I had pics of them looking right toward the area of the previous camera as if wondering where it had gone. This was pretty convincing to me that they could not see the flash on them. The only time a deer looked at a Black LED camera was during the daylight hours while placed on a trail. It caught the attention of a young buck and and older doe.
Two thumbs up in my opinion!
