Let one fly an hour ago near McMinnville. Had 3 bucks walk down the hill and the biggest gave me a broadside slightly quartering away shot at 10 yards. Made a pass through shot and fairly certain I heard him crash. Waiting on a buddy to get here for a hopefully easy track and recovery.View attachment 247775

He ended up only going 40 yards, double lunged him. Had a coyote that managed to get part of a shoulder while I was waiting for my buddy to help me drag.

Well, it was another first for me this evenin'. I have never let a buck walk, much less a public land buck. Had a basket 8 come from my 3 o'clock. He walked to the base of my tree and cut my track. He bolted off about ten yards and stood there for a minute or two then walked off. He never spooked, just didn't like what he smelled.
