Tell me about it . This big white oak at the house new leaves push the remaining old leaves off . Can't be like a Maple I've got to blow leaves all fall .
Not where I wanted to hunt this morning but the North wind dictated that I hunt here.

Lost count of how many does and fawns I had around this morning. Had a spike and a little 3 point pestering them.
Don't think there are any swamp chestnut acorns left, but they were finding something.
My son is out of school for Thanksgiving break, probably going to take him this afternoon if the wind will stay down.

Had my son set up on this ear width 6 and i couldn't get the deer to stop broadside. He was in the plot when we climbed up in the stand about 25 minutes ago, about 150 yards out. Hope he comes back out.
6 days in a row of hard hunting.

Just had the wide buck I was hoping to get my son on down in the low spot between the brush pile and the single oak tree, to the right of the single oa. I had a shot on him myself, quartering to, but handed the gun to my son and got him setup. Got him in position on the deer, had a doe he was following moving up the treeline, so I told him to wait until he was out of the tall grass. She bolted about the time she was clear. Dang it dang it dang it, just can't catch a break for this kid.

He came back, and my son just took a shot at him broadside at about 100 yards. Think he had a clean miss.
