I am hoping to be home in time for youth season....called in two for my daughter to within 10 yds....hope to get each kid out this year....then it will be running/gunning for me til its over....
Good luck gobblinfool! Youth season is just an early opener for us. My son hunts with me til the last sunset. I can't leave home without him. I DO have a lot of days off during the week when he's at school though.
Spurhunter, luckily my one daughter really likes to go out with me to turkey hunt and we have killed a few birds together, she likes to call, am thinking about getting a crossbow, because they don't like the kick of the gun....I just want my kids to go with me hunting...they don't like getting out of bed to early...
I guess a 20 gauge autoloader would be the lowest recoil. My son's first shotgun was a 20 gauge single shot. It kicked like a mule with 3" turkey loads. He killed one longbeard with it before moving up to a 12 gauge 870. Low recoil turkey guns for girls are a tough deal though.
