I haven't been shooting as much but I still try to shoot about 30-50 arrows a week. Here is a group from 40 yards that I'm happy with. I have my bow tuned and took some lessons early this year. Here is my set up...can't wait to get up in a tree.

Mathews Z7 28" draw
60-70 lb limbs pulling 60 lbs
Montana Black Gold Ascent Single Pin sight with TAP software tape
Limb Driver Rest
Easton Flatline Surgical 400 27.25" with 85 grain field points
320 grain total arrow weight
292 fps

Wow, nice group. Looks like one of my better ones from 20 yards, of course I'm shooting instinctive and still need to work on getting my "eye" back in shape after not shooting for a few years. Hopefully I can cut a group like that at 30 yards after I practice up a bit but I don't know If I'll do it at 40, great job.

I attribute this group to taking lessons from Dee Falks, who is one of the best archery teachers. Also, Dee and Jeremy at the Archery Den in Franklin helped get my bow tuned nicely.

Dee takes video of form and I know exactly what I need to work on. Back in February and March I was blind bailing in the garage every night woring on form.

I go to the gym 5 days a week and do a lot of cardio to get the weight down plus I have been weight training to gain strength. My cardio vascular fitness is really good right now which helps in staying steady on target. It's amazing how much getting fit will improve shooting form.

I ain't been shooting none really..I have got to get started..I need to get my string replace though, also gonna install a tubelesss peep..

Plus you're shooting a good weight bow. Not going crazy heavy like a lot of guys try to do. When time comes to get into a new bow I'm probably going to stay around 60#, that's really all you need now days with the speed they're getting out of em'.

I love drawing 60#...if I had my way I would like to go with 65# limbs, but no problems out of the 60-70# limbs anyways. I can shoot with more consistent form drawing 60#.

Great group UT.I looked at that exact combination Z7 and flatlines at Archery Den saturday.Very impressed with Z7 and Archery Den.

Good shooting CW!

Dee asked about you the other day. I told him you were most likely busy with golf and getting ready for the baby.

The Archery Den is a good shop. If Jeremy doesn't have it, he can get it quick.

He will also tell you if it doesn't make sense. He told me no on a target I wanted b/c the shipping would be too bad :D

I am going to reach out to him this summer and do a refresher lesson. Tell him I said hello.

Old Hickory has a shoot this Sunday. I might go out after church to sling a few with my little boy. I've been chasing spots this year and have only shot one 3D event. Is she going to have the baby by then?
