.400 Legend?

That is the make/model I am eyeing, strictly because it was recommended above by a great source, and it does not have protruding magazine. Also be a great gun to run one of my cans on. Thanks for sharing your experience to date, much appreciated.
Great set

great setup!

I heart my .350 legend in a Savage Axis II. I'd like to snag one in either a cva compact or a howa mini.

A local shop has a 400 legend in the gen2 ruger but they say they can't find ammo for it.

Do they offer the Ruger Ranch WITHOUT the external protruding magazine? Never been a fan of that on any rifle.
I too hate those extended magazines. I have ruger Americans in 300 blkout and 7.62 and ordered the kit from ruger to get the flush fitting magazine. It was also why I bought a Savage hog hunter in 350 legend. Never been a huge savage fan but dang it looked pretty slick with those clean lines. It shoots Hornady sub x's superbly running a hybrid 46 with a 9mm cap.

If you are hunting an area where you have to use straight walled cartridges, these legend cartridges are a good choice.

But in my opinion, if you are hunting around here where you don't have straight wall restrictions, there are better choices. If I was buying a kid a gun for around here and I wanted low recoil, I would pick up something in 6.5 Grendel. Probably a Howa Mini.

If I was hunting in an area where I had to use a straight wall cartridge, I'd look at a Weatherby Vanguard Sporter in 350 legend.

Just my 2 cents.
