I watched a YouTube video about these rounds and was impressed enough to give them a try. At an advertised velocity of 2100 fps out of a 20 inch barrel, they are smoking fast for a .44 mag. Those velocities and the advertised expansion performance could make the .44 a legit 150 yard deer rifle. I got 2.5 inch groups at 100 yards out of my 16 inch Henry, but may be able to improve them with handloads. I haven't shot them through a chronograph yet, but did easily hit an 8 inch steel plate at 150 yards. I've killed one buck with them at about 50 yards and it expired within about 30 yards. It was shot entering the shoulder at a steep angle, penetrated the scapula, exiting near the hind quarter for great penetration and terminal performance. I'm gonna try them out on some does soon, but so far so good. Does anyone else have any experience with the Bear Creek Ballistics 162 gr in .44 magnum?

I'm interested in anything you've learned since this post....I am going to buy a CVA Scout for hunting in Mississippi's primitive weapons season and honestly expect no shots beyond 100-125 for deer and pigs....I'd love to hear the chrono results if you've got them.

I haven't shot them since December, but plan to go to the range in the coming weeks. I'll post the results when I do. I'll be shooting them through a 16 inch Henry and a 5.5 in Ruger Blackhawk.

I forgot to add that I killed three does with this load with the longest shot being an off angle shot at 130 yards. The bullet performed as advertised with great expansion and full penetration. The internal damage looked more like that of a high velocity round than a typical pistol round.
