Anyone own one or shot one. Need input before I buy it. Because I want one. Wanted for Whitetail hunting. Never owned a Ruger.

I've owned a few of the Americans, none in 6.5 though. Should be good to go. They are a well liked rifle.
Have one for each of my boys - lightweight, good trigger, very low recoil and very accurate. I really like them.
Do they shot well and do they hold up?

I don't usually keep guns long enough to speak to their longevity...
But I don't see any reason for them not to.
Try to find one made more recently. The early ones..the bolt sounded like a zipper when operating it. The newer ones...they polished the bolt more I think. That was the fix with the early ones...polish the bolt body.
Mine shot super good. A friend has 2, one 350 legend, one 6cm
3 shots at 404yds with his 6cm.
Thank you. At my age going to 6.5 will be easier for me.Had a predator model in 6.5. Shot very well. Youngest boy claimed it and has killed a bunch with it. He took a monster buck with it at 245yds, dropped it with the 143 eld-x precision hunter. I ain't getting that gun back

I think you will be pleased. I found it a little on the heavy side for my taste.
