I like Federal Fusion 140 gr. We tried the Hornady 139 gr American Whitetail in 2021 when Fusions were not available — 3 bucks each at about 120 - 140 yards and didn't get pass through on any of them, bullet was embedded just under skin on exit side. They shot well and all 3 bucks were dead in 30 - 40 yards, but no pass through. Similar results with Winchester XP

If you load or know someone who does, try the Speer Gold Dots. Lots of information out on the interwebs that thinks it's the same bullet.

I guess I am different but Remington Core-Loks have always performed very well for me through my Tikka and Remington rifles. Truthfully, they have shot so well there was no need to try anything else. I killed a coyote Wednesday morning at @250 yards with the Tikka and Corr-Loks. Dead right there. This combo has proven itself also on deer. I have never had one go over 25 yards. I love the light recoil even with the Tikka.

They don't call it the deadliest mushroom in the woods for nothing! 👍🏼 I've used corkokts for years before I started handloading and the only problem I had was one round failing to fire, but it was on a good buck so it stung a little. 😬

It was nice when Remington Cor-Lokts used to be available as components. I used a lot of their bullets in my handloads. Their .243 100 grain bullet put a lot of deer in the freezer for me and a buddy.

If I hunted real thick timber I probably would never find a deer. I shoot the Winchester xp in my 30-06. Never had a blood trail nor exit. Just been lucky that they only went a-few yards in some places. The damage is insane tho. I lost a real nice buck last year with them on a shoulder shot. I'll go back to the PowerPoints or core lokts if I pull the 06 out again.

That's pretty crazy that an 30-06 doesn't exit!
