What races did he lose this year because Tony made the wrong call ? I think all of the Hendricks cars are off (handling wise) this year , and all of the crew chiefs are trying to make the best with what they have to work with . They are using pit strategy to gain track position to put a 15th place car in the top 5 . If you look at the points race , I think they are doing good with what they have .

Well, we'll never know for sure, but I'd have to count Daytona 500 at the top of the list. When JR was up front and everyone else pitted with not many to go, I just laughed and pointed and said "He's NOT gonna win today!

There was another time when JR and someone (maybe spotter?) were jabberjawing on the radio, and Tony couldn't get word to JR to pit, and he did not win. THAT was the crew chief's mistake also.
The decision to stay out in Michigan nly worked because of the last caution flag, if it hadn't come out, many a JR fan would be wanting Tony gone right now, but because someone else crashed on the track, Tony is a genius? :crazy: Only in a JRfans mind can crap like this make sense

I have to agree with you there.... there were several races where his crew chief made the wrong call or wrong adjustments and ultimately cost him the race. I feel that was mainly when he was at DEI and he was not happy there either.

I Don't get how it can be the crew chief's fault that someone else is hogging the radio so that he can't talk to the driver.
Maybe it's just too much for this 88 fan to understand but that seems a bit backward to me.
