A first for me…….

I have fished the Duck River for 40 years, since i was a little
Kid. My grannies farm has the river flowing through it. Floated a rural 10 mike stretch today. Caughts lots of smallies, rock bass and bluegill- all the usual suspects. Bite was fair at best. Then my son caught this guy. First crappie i have ever seen in the duck river- a good 35 miles west of the Normandy dam. Not a big one- 10.5" but definitely caught me off guard. Maybe washed out of a pond? Who knows… but he cames with the blue gill and rock bass

Catch several on the duck river in Humphreys and Hickman county, can even find them on the Buffalo River at times

I went trout fishing on the Little Red River in Arkansas with a buddy that has a place there and I caught a crappie. He said only you could come here and find a crappie.

Slow moving water, cuts with no current. Winter and early spring is when I have my best catches and quality, usually with minnows
