Or lack of them should I say. Seems like it's a terrible year for them in SW KY. Haven't found the first oak that has produced any behind my house so far. Going to look around my other spot this weekend and see if I can find any. I had planned on using my climber and hunting where the acorns were starting in October but might not get to.

However all my walnut and pecan trees are doing great.

Hit and miss here. Some of my trees are bare and some are loaded. Tree in this pic is in the middle of my front pasture.

Speed scouted a little public land yesterday and found a bit of bur oak & willow oak nuts but nothing else. Deer and turkeys had been hitting them hard.

I am curious why the reds are doing better than the whites though. Same rain. Interesting...
I've been trying to figure out the acorn cycles for over 30 years, and still can't get a handle on it. When I finally figure it out I'll let you know, but don't hold your breath! ;)

Around Mid Tn where I hunt the reds have acorns and they are dropping or being cut by squirrels. I have seen very few white oak acorns. Looks to be a spotty year. I can say that hunting around the reds has produced deer for me.

Raining acorns, especially white oaks, where I'm at.

We've got a bumper crop of them around here. Not everywhere, as in 100% - but most trees are loaded.
I've got about 125 lbs of them cleaned up. (Filled this counter top in the basement 6x.)
