I hunt with Airbow during gun season, I don't hunt during bow season.. but.. are they legal during bow season?
 
Best bet is to contact Fish and Game; link above from swampbadger says they're legal but I didn't see where it says during which season. I wouldn't classify it as a bow either; I'd guess you'd be able to use it during ML and rifle seasons but that's pure speculation. What seasons are air rifles legal? I'd guess that the same would apply for an air bow.
 
On page 46 of the Tennessee Hunting Guide. The answer is yes an air bow can be used during the modern firearm season. (However, disabled hunters can use during archery.) See items 9 and 10 below to see the verbiage/

Reckon they will ruin bow season the rest of the way, we all know xbows started the decline 😜 . reckon it has a split personality, identifies as a air rifle and a archery item lol. I see nothing wrong with it other than folks hatred of guns and or more folks afield during the bow season. I say set season set limits use what weapon you want, see how many proclaimed bow hunters pu a bow then. a lot only want less competition in the woods. I suspect snobbery isn't restricted to fly fishing 🤣

Actually compound bows started the decline!!
 
Disabled hunters can use them in TN

9. Persons possessing a permanent disabled license (Annual Resident Hunting & Fishing Disabled Under 18, Permanent Resident Hunting & Fishing Intellectually Disabled, Permanent Wheelchair Hunting and Fishing, Permanent DAV Hunting and Fishing) may use a pre-charged pneumatic gun which shoots an arrow during the archery, deer, bear and elk season as an accommodation for their disability.

10. A pre-charged pneumatic gun which shoots an arrow is legal for all hunters to use during modern gun season for deer, bear, elk and turkey.

8 years ago when these first came out from Benjamin I shot one of these at the archery trade show and I got to tell you I was highly impressed with the power and accuracy of these. They would not allow you to shoot at the same spot on the target because you would literally robin hood every arrow it was that insanely accurate. You were allowed to shoot it 3 times at 3 dots on the target and I hit dead center all three times on the dot. Full Shaft arrows instead of short Bolts. Whats not to love? I would buy one in a heartbeat and hunt with it all season if they approve it. The heck with a bunch of people with their nose up in the air about tradition. I would love it.

They said that the onboard canister was good for 8 full power shots and would hold full power for a full season. I would assume that to mean something like 4 to 6 weeks. So you could literally keep it charged at the beginning of Archery season and check on it sometime around mid muzzleloader season and your probably good to go through the rest of the season on full power. I would certainly like to play with that after getting one to see if that theory is correct.
 


Jim did a great job showing the mechanics of this airbow in this video. Yeah I know this is a canned hunt but it really shows the power this airbow has.
