I think both had keys to a race car and didn't drive it as well as could be driven but both of those guys are quality coaches. They didn't get to that level by being crappy coaches. Bill O Brien was a head nfl coach and a nfl assistant for years. Golding was snapped up fast by ole miss. You don't coach at the levels they are at by being second rate coaches. It's more about the jimmy's and Joe's. Coaching and scheme cover and help some but the team with the best players usually wins. That said saban has won at a higher level at bama more than anyone in the history of college football. He's always gonna be formidable while he's there. Won big at lsu with similar athletes. Was bad at Michigan state with much lesser players.

I think Bill O Brien will do great at New England and Pete will be good at Ole Miss. I wish both the best (except when Pete plays Bana) I just didn't think they was a good fit at Bama.

Sometimes good coaches don't fit in some situations. Put them somewhere else and they start rolling again. I'm interested to see how Petrino does at a&m. They looked good in their first game. Tons of talent there and he's a top notch offensive guy. He could make them extremely dangerous
