Underdog? Cincy, Bama lay claim to label at CFP

Players from both upstart Cincinnati and heavily favored Alabama have laid claim to the underdog label ahead of Friday's CFP semifinal.

Meanwhile, despite Bama being a clear favorite heading into kickoff, Tide star linebacker Will Anderson said he feels his team also can lay claim to having underdog status in the CFP semifinals.

"I feel like we're the underdog in this game," he told reporters on Monday. "All year we've been disrespected."

The comment came just 10 days after teammate and defensive lineman Phil Mathis made similar claims about the Tide shifting their mindset to adopt the "underdog mentality" against the Bearcats.

No, but I'd have a hard time deciding who is/was. I guess ND should have been. I would have had Cincy about 8th.

Heard that a few weeks ago too. What you're seeing is a product of the competition on the field....remember how it went 4 weeks ago when Georgia was going to mop the field with Alabama?

Hey I get it I honestly do. I unfortunately have bammer whammers in my family. I understand if I say something negative or slightly under all out praise about bama that the roll tide children think I'm talking bad about their momma or family. It's just part of the bama dna fanbase and they can't help it. Define "regularly" cause out of 2,700 something posts I have maybe MAYBE 15-20 that pertain to sports that don't involve the Atlanta Braves. It's all good Bamaproud just a little poking lol
