All of the built up hype and expectations by the media and fans regarding the 2015 ut football program is at the highest level I can remember. I heard on 104.5 the zone on the way home from work today some of the espn guys are predicting the vols to be in the sugar bowl or even the NC playoffs! Now my question is, is this good for the team? Or is this gonna make it harder on them? I feel that greatly exceeding expectations is much easier without added pressure from outsiders who have nothing to do with the performance of those involved. Of Course I've never played any college footbalI (except drunk flag football) :) and maybe this is the motivation they need?
Heck, I don't know. Good or bad?

People that say there gonna go 10-2 I think are asking for to much! And gonna be upset even if the Vols improve and have a solid 8-4 season.

Is the Hype gonna make them better or worse? I have no idea its up to CBJ to not let the Hype go to there head in a bad way, And to keep his players focused.

Would be happy with 8-4 and another good recruiting class myself:) Then ask me in 2016! If I think 10-2 is unrealistic.

It's ESPN. They are just trying to set UT up for the kill when they only win 8 or 9 games instead of going to the Sugar Bowl or make it to the playoffs.

Sugar Bowl? Playoffs? Really? I see 8 or possibly 9 wins this coming season IF all goes as planned.

Sugar Bowl or National Championship is a little much. I'm thinking 8 or 9 wins. All that new talent is great but they've got to develop it even more now. Nobody's gonna roll over just because they signed a top 5 class and ESPN spews off about national title games. Last time I checked games are still won between the lines.

^^This^^

And that "if" is awfully big!

You can't fix a problem until you admit you got one. I said 3 years ago that Florida is where Tennessee was 4 years ago. We got rid of our Dooley after trying to praise his lower SEC recruiting classes. They haven't reach the point of recognizing their problem yet.

I don't understand this post? Haven't admitted they got one? Isn't Muschamp gone and a new coaching staff in place? What problem hasn't beemn recognized yet?

Florida could have done better by hiring Stoops or a proven coach that would have made a splash with recruiting. McElwain finished in the top 30, but let's face it. He was one prima Dona lineman from finishing out of the top 50 in recruiting. With very few returners and a new class that only includes two RB's and 2 lineman top recruits and the rest are just graded as average. He will need to have an awesome/ lucky year not to lose 8 games. That is the problem they have. But instead they think living in the past is acceptable. That is where TN was 4 years ago.

Man are you serious? First off, You ,me, or the president has no idea what McElwain is going to do. Second, with his short time to recruite after the taste Muschamp left in many peoples mouth I, along with quite a few others think he did pretty good. Top 30? How about #20 on ESPN and 247 rankings, and I think #23 on one of the others. The defensive line still has depth and play makers. RB's? Taylor and Lane return along with one of the top ranked new RB's out of the state this year in Jordan Scarlett and Cronkite. As far as Cece being a prima donna, not so much. Cece tweeted the whole time that he was a Gator and still commited. His dad was the one upset and holding out his LOI. I always like these premature preditions when nobody has seen anything on the feild to base them off of.

Not a single person has answered the question I posted. Do you guys think that the preseason hype will make it harder on the young players to live up to, or will it be added motivation?

If they let it get in their head then yes, it could make it harder on them. I think it played a big part in the UF loss this year.

I think Jones and staff will do a good job of keeping them grounded and pound into their heads that all the accolades must be earned on the field.

I think Jones will run the big head out of them. He knows he is at least a year away from such a record.

My prediction is 7-5 and with a lucky bounce or two, maybe 8-4. If they get hit with some key injuries like they were last year, they may be doing good to get the six wins to be bowl eligible.

They are at least a year away from competing for anything big.
