All the UT football media hype?

Not a single person has answered the question I posted. Do you guys think that the preseason hype will make it harder on the young players to live up to, or will it be added motivation?

I think Jones will run the big head out of them. He knows he is at least a year away from such a record.

My prediction is 7-5 and with a lucky bounce or two, maybe 8-4. If they get hit with some key injuries like they were last year, they may be doing good to get the six wins to be bowl eligible.

They are at least a year away from competing for anything big.

This is a sound post... All the hype coming from several on here and a lot of the great post we have seen on here lately have UT winning the SEC and N/C. With some fans not being realistic will put the pressure on CBJ this season and the sky will be falling if the Vols only win 7 games. This should be interesting..... :tu:

I would be Happy with 8-4 and, OK with 7-5:/ that's still improvement lol May just be a little better but its still better then the 5-7 and 6-6 season's the vols have been stuck at for years.

If the vols took there 7-5 team and won the Bowl to make it 8-5 then I would go from OK:/ to Happy. :tu:

I really don't see the Vols going 9-3 or 10-2 The D and O line's are still a year to young, but I would settle for 7-5 and a bowl win :tu:

8-4 Book it!

I can see 8-4 but not expecting much more, it could be 9 with a big break and it could be 7. I haven't seen any TN people predicting sugar bowls and playoff appearance so I don't understand some on here saying our expectations are National championships this coming year, other than the resident gator.

To answer your original question, I do worry about all the hype getting to these Young kids. This team is still very young, our older leaders on the team have never experienced this type of hype and I hope Butch can control this. In young people when they here how great they are etc, they might tend not to work as hard during this offseason when it really counts. Hopefully our strength coach, who will be with these kids the most during the offseason, can push them hard and get a hold of this.

I don't worry at all. For the first time in several years, we will have legitimate competition at most positions. This alone will push them to work during the offseason. The older guys know that they will have to bust it to keep their playing time, which will influence the younger guys, which makes for a better team.
