I headed out today with Scenic City Fishing regular, Gary Rogers. The goal was to put Gary on some crappie. I had very high hopes after putting the smackdown on the crappie last weekend.
Today the crappie had other ideas. :bash:
After the first two hours or so we'd caught a LOT of crappie... but all shorties. We only had two legal keepers and they were just barely legal.
Fortunately I had a fallback plan in the form of "natural swimbaits," otherwise known as live shiners. ray:
They paid off in spades and Gary put a whole BUNCH of bass in the boat, included two great kickers - one that went 5-plus and another that was 7-plus, maybe eight. Fish with Scenic City and whenever possible we're always going to try and have a Plan B, or Plan C or maybe even Plan D & E. Whatever it takes to get your string stretched. That means life is good and gettin' better every day!
