I mighta mentioned this months ago, there was a doe hanging around with a fully broken right rear ankle, I mean flopping. She kinda disappeared and we figured the yotes got her.
Well, I was walking over in the woods by the house and there she is, the ankle isn't flopping and is stiff and straight. It's about as big as 2 tennis balls joined together but she made it through the winter. She was favoring it when walking. She didn't seem any worse for wear and was good body weight.

Glad she made it. She's gonna heal up as time goes on and might be full speed by fall. If not, she's gonna make a lot bucks happy next November!

You may be surprised at how fast she will become.
Killed two in the river bottoms that had legs completely gone and healed over at the knees. Running you couldn't tell anything was wrong with them.
I think they got caught in beaver traps maybe.
