I've often noticed that, even in the summer, maturity makes a buck's head look too small for his body, especially in "head-on" pictures:

This buck is a trend-setter so far. Normally, I NEVER get pics of 5 1/2+ year-old bucks in daylight, even in summer. Yet so far, every picture I have of this buck this year is during daylight.

And now with all the hype, he'll probably disappear into thin air! He is a nice buck and I hope ya'll connect with him.

Knowing my luck, that will be the case.

But I do find it interesting that for the last two years, this buck has been a rut range-expander, only showing up on my property for the month of peak breeding, disappearing post-rut. However, this year he has become a summer resident.

I think its them big velvet antlers making his head look small...(grinning)

Nice buck. If you saw that buck at presidents island he would be right on the borderline of being legal. Not sure if that kicker would be an inch after the velvet is gone. Great buck for anywhere though. Good luck!
