I mean really, its just a warrant. Gosh!

I know, Pruitt is just used to how things in Alabama and Georgia are handled...and Florida. These little pesky things like a warrant are just swept under the rug.

It's hard to swept warrants and domestics under the rug....

What domestic?

The one Thompson was in.... CJP was using a general statement when he started, "I've worked at 4 places now and not had crap like this except for here".

CJP never worked at Florida. Did you mean FSU.... :rotf:[/quote]

Hmmmm.... I thought all those charges were dropped nah?

We and CBJ are talking about arrest, not innocent or guilt. I'm sure Bank's charges will also be dropped... :tu:

If charges are dropped, there is nothing to be "swept under the rug" [emoji6]

I guess that makes him clear to play the rest of the season LOL

Terrible, because what he did is SO much worse than what your former first round draft choice did that was swept under the rug by St. Nick.

Scn, Alabama players do no wrong! Didn't you know that already? :tu:

You guys bring up a valid point about teams/sports... When everything is going wrong, the fans and the media will pile on. When everything is going go, it just gets brushed to the side.

"Jeremy's behavior and comments are unacceptable and portrayed himself and our football program very poorly and he understands that. We will address the matter internally ..."
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

"I GET THAT. I GET ... I UNDERSTAND THAT, ALRIGHT. BUT SOME OF THESE KIDS, THEY DON'T HAVE NOBODY AT HOME TO TEACH THEM HOW TO DO STUFF SO IF SOMETHING HAPPENS PEOPLE NOTIFY SO YOU CAN TEACH THEM HOW TO DO IT. SO ... I GET IT.
KIDS GOT TO LEAD HIS WHOLE LIFE
GO AHEAD. DO YOUR CIVIC DUTY MAN."

They misspelled "AIGHT" :smash: :poke: :super:

This arrest like everything else in College football will be forgotten at the end of the season. Its all about Win Loss Record. Nothing else really matters at the end of the season. vols beat Vandy?? All will be forgiven.

When Kirby Smartt was hired at Georgia, he met with ga legislators and they passed laws to make it more difficult, and take longer, to get information via the FOIA. I think they can now take up to 6 months after the request is received to release information. Lot of football can happen in 6 months...like an entire season.

I think there are some really hypocritical folks that post in this forum.
People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

I think it's in all forums.... Try bringing up buck limits, baiting, antler regulations, dog hunters, and etc.... :rotf:

We just have more fun over here.... :rotf:

As soon as a Bama, Kentucky, Georgia, or Florida player is arrested or those teams lose. It will be posted... :tu:

Sorry, same arrest as was reported a couple of weeks ago. Try again.

You may need to watch the video before you comment again.

I watched the video. It doesn't reflect well on him or the University of TN. As a former LEO, it pisses me off. But, the title of the thread was another UT player arrested. I was pointing out that wasn't correct as it was the same arrest from Sept. 17

But, if you don't think the same thing happens across the SEC, then you have your head in the sand. When Bama players are caught with drugs and guns in a vehicle and it gets swept under the rug, it shows that some SEC teams have better ties with their local media and law enforcement agencies. IMO, there isn't a team in the SEC that has to battle local media and LE like UT does. It doesn't excuse the actions of some of their knuckle heads. I seriously doubt it would have risen to the level of a warrant in some other SEC towns. It would have been handled by contacting the head coach and telling him that he had a knucklehead that needed to take care of a traffic ticket before it got to the warrant level.

The officer was doing his job and used a lot of discretion in the situation.

I had really hoped you hadn't watched the video and you just thought it was old news. Discussing shooting at the police is unforgivable. Continually calling them the B word is pretty bad too. I was not bashing anyone or even UT. But because others in sports are covering stuff up and condoning the behavior is like if everyone else is covering up why not us. This incident was not covered up. It is typical thug behavior and he should at least be punished for it somehow. Do you think with that kind of disrespect towards the police he has any respect for Pruitt? I am also a retired LEO and both my sons are active LEOs. This is completely sickening behavior and accomplished absolutely nothing on his part. It doesn't matter if it gets covered up elsewhere. This one was not covered up. No policeman anywhere would let him go on a warrant after he displayed that type of behavior. Not Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida or anywhere. He had everything to gain by taking the high road and he chose the other. Probably how he got the warrant in the first place. And SCN you have the right to your opinion just like everyone else so I am definitely not bashing. Just surprised.

^^^^THIS ^^^

If the police allow this behavior out of this young man at his age. He will be the next Pacman Jones.

No doubt him running his trashy mouth and copping the ghetto attitude doesn't reflect well on him or the university. Hopefully he will receive some meaningful internal punishment that will stick in his mind enough to make him think twice about going down that road again. I'm not defending him in the least, just pointing out some of the outrage is pretty hypocritical.

But, at least for me, just running the mouth doesn't rise to the same level of being caught with several ounces of weed and guns with the serial numbers filed off. For the general public, that likely would have resulted in felony drug/weapons charges. But, because at least one was an All-American at the most powerful university in the country, it got swept under the rug and he goes on to be a first round draft choice. Hard for me to see that trashy ghetto talk rises to that level. I'm not sure it even rises to the level of a recent DUI at another SEC school. It is hard to hurt anybody with just trash talk.

A lot of folks that post in the forum (including some UT fans) have some very selective memories.

Yea, all this really amounts to is that he said some really stupid stuff. A few years ago (prior to body cams) it probably wouldn't have become public knowledge. There isn't an 18-20 year old male on the planet that hasn't said some really stupid stuff. I'm not a fan of severe punishment for words.

I hate that he has that attitude regarding police...and I strongly disagree with him, but I guess he can believe whatever he wants. I'd like to see his punishment having to do a few ride-alongs with Police to see all the nonsense (like his) they have to put up with daily.

Today's young people are extremely brash with their language. I've not watched the unedited video, but from what I did see, I gather that he was calm until he was cuffed and realized that he was going to jail and that's when the bad language started. I understand the frustration, I did it one night and I was 42 yrs old. We had went out to Chattanooga on New Year's Eve and had a DD that hadn't had a drop to drink. He got pulled over on the way home and got a ticket for 39 in a 35. My drunk a$$ sitting in the passenger seat asked the officer if he was really going to give my friend a ticket for 4 mph over at 2:30 in the morning. The officer said "the law is the law" and I went off on a monologue that probably should have gotten me arrested for disorderly conduct. So I kinda understand the why, but I do think Banks took it way, way too far.

Lots has changed over the years. No longer do we have the pillars of our community,,, well dressed men in suits doing PSA commercials for Mutual Insurance. Now we have thugs dressed in costumes , chains and what not. Its disgraceful. Tex Schramm and Tom Landry and the likes in the NFL 40 years ago would have never put up with that sort of stuff that these owners and Coaches do today out of their players. They would have never been on the bus Sunday Afternoon.

Its alot like the real world. Morality has dropped all over. Parenting is a lost art form. Bullying is at a all time high in our schools. School shootings? Mass Shootings????

Crazy stuff.

Totally agree. When your look at world history, one of the things that is pointed out for the decline of the Roman Empire was a loss of morality. I wouldn't be surprised to see our country go under for the very same reasons. God has had our back in a number of conflicts that easily could have gone the other way. When the majority in the country turn their back on God, I'm not sure He will be there to rescue us again

All of you guys are going to be banned because ya'll are getting way to serious in the Sports Forum...... :rotf:

Times have changed and we live in a world where this new generation thinks that they are entitled.
