Best way to shoot a turkey is to not aim at the head. Aim where neck and body meet. It you mess up and shoot high, now you hit his head. Aim too low,hit in vitals !!
If u hunt long enough everyone will miss. Had a buddy new to turkey hunting and was being a smart a about how could anyone miss a turkey with a shotgun. Next day he ate crow! It happens.
Yes. I have missed at 30. Don't know what I did wrong. I did kill a Jake once at 10 yds, which, I know is actually not always a good idea due to shot dispersion.
I'd bet that most people that have killed over 20 birds in their career have at least missed 1 or 2 before. I know I have missed several over the years. Some were to far,some were to close,and some I really dont know what the heck happened.
