I've got my quota hunt app in for Georgia with one priority point. Was unsuccessful in first phase for Florida. Can always just go to Alabama like I have the past two years. I've been researching a lot about Nebraska but not sure that sort of time commitment is feasible this Spring or not, though I would love to head West. What's everyone else planning?

I won't get to travel out of state but I think I'll put in for a draw hunt this year

I am thinking the same thing.I usually use all my vacation during deer season,so a w.m.a. hunt would be fun

I am hoping to travel to FL and hunt during my school spring break, my sister lives next to a wma with birds....so stay with her and try to get it done by myself......rather than pay $$$$$$ to an outfitter.

Probably just make a hunt fish and camping trip for 2 or 3 days on TVA

Sounds fun

Went to FL three years ago, but with an outfitter. It was an awesome experience, but very pricey. Luckily I knew a guy that paid for me and two other guys.
I would like to try the wma down there, but I think they are only open to turkey hunting like 3 days a week, to help keep out of staters from hunting as much.

Florida does have some open WMA's. A lot of them are quota and non-residents are limited to 10% of the tags plus you have to buy a WMA license just to apply and be unsuccessful for a while.

AL again if schedules permit. Hopefully we can make down there the same time.
As for Western birds, I would like to plan a Spring hunt when you have the time so you can experience the Black Hills before we draw the deer tag.

Definitely makes it a lot easier when I have someone to go with, especially traveling that far!

Good Lord willing, March 4th opener in The Big Cypress in South Florida and then March 15th opener on Tuskegee NF in Alabama. Then 6 straight weeks of our season. Although I love to deer and hog hunt, turkey hunting is what I live for ;) Anyone else hunting Tuskegee. The Econo Lodge in Auburn is less than 7 miles from turkeys. It has become quite the turkey camp in the past few years :)

I have hunted that part yet. Usually a little further South on some of the WMAs. I really like the WMAs in the black belt region, even though I can't seem to kill one[emoji848]

I usually camp a few days and save the Econo Lodge for bad weather nights. Weather always seems to turn bad while I'm there. Campsites are primitive and a bit rough(trash and spent bullet casings every where). Pretty sure the "brothers" from Tuskegee use most campsites for target practice and late night gatherings :) Anyone serious about going let me know and we can share a camp or split hotel costs. I ain't that bad of a guy :)
