Anyone else this way?

I try to turkey hunt mainly because I want to be in the woods. It's okay and I've killed a few. I've hunted about everything squirrels, rabbits, dove, hog, etc. but it just don't keep my attention. I love fishing but rarely go. But I guarantee when opening day of deer season opens I'll be 20 ft up with bow in hand. I drive people crazy talking about deer hunting. I'm ate up to a point it's almost addiction. My wife is mad at me right now in fact because I'm trying to convince her where on the wall we need to put 1 of my 12 bucks.
I'd love to see that wall…

I actually discovered that I found more joy in deer hunting when I learned to stay more balanced. To an extent I used to spend almost every spare minute thinking about deer hunting first, then I would fill in the rest of life around that. I loved small game hunting and hiking, but I was still using it to scout or envision deer hunting scenarios.

Now I don't have the time to spend on hobbies that some people do with my work schedule, teaching at church, coaching shooting sports, and doing various other things with the family. I've also been able to go on a few western hunts with my family and have learned to really appreciate the time me afield more than the hunt.

I still deer hunt, but do a lot less of it and tend to use it to decompress and focus on my relationship with God. Around half of the time or better I have a kid with me now and I can't hunt the same places or ways that I want to sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I still love to deer hunt, but I have limited times in the woods alone so I cherish it when I can.

Last of all I also look for my joy and fulfillment in other areas. This season of life that I'm in will come to a close quickly and I don't want to miss time with the kids while they are still at home

Here's one wall. These 5 range from 125-154. The big one in the middle is from Georgia. And the far right is from Kentucky. The other 3 are Sevier county deer.

Your turn.
We've killed 109 bucks of my place. Every one has either been European mounted or shoulder mounted, even down to the lowliest spike. Now a dozen or so are at hunters' homes, but the rest hang in our hunting cabin. See below:
