new calls or new gun/gun set up??

Finally got my dream gun (SBE2) and I am in the process of completely pimping it out!

Had the forcing cone lengthened
Ported
Trigger work done
Dipped in Bottomland camo
got a steady grip stock also dipped to match
FF3 and prob gonna try the speed bead mount
Gonna try a few chokes through it to see what she can do. Gonna start with a Rob Roberts 655 and Jelly Head 660. Plan on trying a Sumtoy 650 and 665 as well as Hevi Choke and a Rhino if i can find one affordable.

I think i am finally good on calls but i always get a few diaphragms to try out each year....I am somewhat interested in seeing David Hollorans new call

also I am gonna order a pair of Irish Setter Rutmaster boots to see if i can actually find a pair of rubber boots that fit me and don't make my feet slide around when i walk.

anyways always interesting to see what new stuff people are excited about each year.

im ordering my new gun this week stoeger m3500 got to get it ready for season trying new chokes to get it dialed in probably pick between rhino and rob Roberts may try a hevi shot and jelly head. get a scope put on it and get it ready. I always buy a few calls mainly friction calls. will for sure try the new woodhaven slate call out tomorrow at the ata will probably buy it at nwtf if its as good as I think. some magblends, just odds and ends. ren, did you ever see the sbe2 in the bottom lands they made it for a little while It was slick. love that camo pattern.

Sounds like a nice rig.. Seems like I heard or read the sbe2 needs a slightly more open choke than the old sbe. I have the old h&k model and use kicks gt .660 or a rhino .672 if I am using nitro.... Looking forward to getting back down your way this spring. Hoping to get Griz and ms Griz up
to Wilson co for a little gobbler chasing...:)

deer hunter i have a Hevi Choke your welcome to try before you buy one. I have it in my 3500 but don't plan on using it this year. If you want to let me know i can send it to you later and you can shoot it and send it back.

I appreciate that I may take you up on it to see how it does. ill let you know something after I get the gun. who did all of your gun work? rob Roberts or did you send it some where else?

sounds like a sweet gun REN.

Me I don't really have anything new planned for the spring except a hen wingbone call (need to thaw those out and boil them soon). And I might need a box of the new Double X, getting low on the old Supremes. Heck if I feel like it, I might try those new lead loads that you talked about. If I feel like shooting paper at some point... lol

Oh yeah, I need to invest in a pair of LaCrosse boots for the upcoming season. Muck Fieldblazers are a terrible idea for anything involving briars. You should see em... let's just say I don't wade deeper than the ankles

A couple of bottles of Permethrin insect repellent. No question, the best repellent I have ever used. No ticks, chiggers or other little pests. It's odorless, so is great for early season bow. Had a bead on a big bird late last spring, click oh man I didn't chamber a round! Now way to cycle an auto quitely, by by big bird. I had a miss fire. Well fixed that problem, I'm taking a OU with me this season.

I hope to get a new choke for my 10 bore, nut other than that I'll probably buy 4 more pounds of TSS #8

A change in scenery is always nice and welcome!! Hopefully we can make it happen brother!!

Ren you got a pic of that Benelli. It sure sounds sweet. I had an h&k sbe 24" in black with ff2 and a rhino. It was a sweet gun and wish I would have kept it but didn't. Would like to find another one soon.

I want to either get some new sights or a red dot for my gun. Also, will probably have to try some new ammunition. I can't seem to find the Winchester Supreme 3.5" 6 shot around here or even online. I am thinking about trying the new Winchester long beard or whatever its called.
